The AlumiTank story began with a need — and a vision. Founded in 1989 by Bob and Terry Kirkpatrick, AlumiTank was born from their experience in the trucking industry and a belief that they could build a better, more accessible aluminum fuel tank.

What started as late nights and hand-built equipment has grown into a trusted name in aluminum fuel tank manufacturing, serving everyone from owner-operators to some of the largest logistics and rail companies in North America.

Our roots go deeper: Kirkpatrick Trucking was founded in 1938 by Seth Kirkpatrick, and that dedication to trucking has stayed in the family. Today, the same grit and pride drives our team of welders, engineers, and sales professionals to deliver unmatched quality and support.

What We Do

We manufacture standard and custom aluminum fuel tanks, mounting systems, and accessories, all proudly built in the USA. Whether it’s a direct replacement or a one-off custom job, we offer solutions that fit. Every product is built to meet FMCSA standards and quality tested before leaving our shop.

Every tank we build is pressure for leaks, inspected for craftsmanship, and drop-tested to meet the structural integrity requirements set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

AlumiTank 2-Year Limited Warranty:

We stand behind the quality of our products with a comprehensive 2-Year Limited Warranty.

• Coverage of defects in materials or workmanship for two years from the original purchase date
• Free repair or replacement of AlumiTank-manufactured parts (tanks, straps, steps, and accessories), excluding inbound freight
• Warranty claims handled directly by our internal team for prompt and fair resolution
• Customers are responsible for inbound freight costs when submitting an item for inspection

Shipping & Pickup

Tanks are carefully packaged in protective cardboard, secured to a pallet, and shipped via common carrier. Local customers are welcome to pick up their tanks directly from our Harvard, Illinois facility.
